    Brief Description

Professor Johanna K. Lemlech, University of Southern California, has been a public school teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District, director of Teacher Education and Student Teaching at the University, and chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. She was awarded the Crocker Professorship from 1992-1996. Her specialties are teacher education, curriculum, instruction, and school leadership. Dr. Lemlech has authored four textbooks for teacher education: Handbook for Successful Urban Teaching, Classroom Management for Elementary and Secondary Teachers, Becoming a Professional Leader and Curriculum and Instructional Methods for the Elementary and Middle School. She was the principal investigator of the USC-Norwood Professional Development School. Dr. Lemlech is currently studying collegial behaviors among student teacher cohorts and leadership activities of experienced teachers.
