• Includes Literacy Planning Guides for levels (K-1), (2-5), and (6-12). Each guide is divided into sections regarding writing, reading books, word study or spelling, and study skills or content area reading to promote balanced instruction.

• Supplies a multitude of engaging activities in the Thematic Instruction Projects (TIP) section to reach a wide range of children in different age groups.

• Provides specific, easy-to-follow directions to assist children with acquiring and/or practicing the skills needed to read and to write. Also includes a math planning guide and techniques for math tutoring.

• Emphasizes beginning reading and writing skills but also devotes some attention to tutoring older children with higher reading levels.

• Includes a description of a children's book drop project, a family literacy program, and a list of recommended books for young children.

• Contains activity sheets, lesson plans, word list forms, and planning guides that may be duplicated.
