For courses in Fire Prevention.
Unlike other fire prevention texts—which focus on only one aspect or mostly on the code enforcement aspect of prevention—this comprehensive exploration of fire and life safety prevention takes into account the broad range of prevention activities that must be coordinated for a modern approach to prevention, as well as the scope of the issues involved in their administration. Going well beyond code enforcement and plan review, it shows students how to utilize all the tools available through public education, and how to contribute to their planning efforts by incorporating investigation activities into a coordinated strategy for loss control. Several case studies and a host of activities give students first-hand insights and experiences into applying concepts and strategies in the real world.
