SUCCESS! in massage Therapy 4th Ed. has been designed and revised according to the guidelines of the National Certification for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB) exam, which is administered throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. This review book enables the applicant to review relevant material while becoming familiar with the types of questions given on the exam. Each question has one answer and a brief explanation with references provided at the end of the book. The questions are divided into five chapters that cover many areas of Therapeutic Bodywork and correlate to the NTCMB exam content areas outlined in the NCTMB or for the Therapeutic Massage Specific exam (NCETM). The questions and answers for Bodywork are located in a separate chapter to omit for those taking the massage specific exam. The content is divided into Human Anatomy, Physiology, and Kinesiology; Pathology; Therapeutic Massage Bodywork, Assessment, and Application; and Professional Standards, Ethics, and Business Practices, for a total of 1000 questions. Within these content areas, topics relevant to Western and non-Western massage and bodywork modalities as well as ethics and clinical pathology are included.
- Now covers the MBLEx exam.
- Content Review: Key Topics covered on the NCTMB are covered in this book. This book has been designed to help the student review massage therapy and bodywork together.
- Practice Exams: Two Comprehensive Simulated Practice tests with 150 questions each, is included at the end of the book.
- CD-ROM: The accompanying CD provides 300 practice multiple-choice questions and a glossary to help the student learn definitions of key terms. Two tests each contain 150 questions based on the content code and their percentages as outlined in the NCTMB Candidate Handbook.
Massage students may select which national certification exam to sit for.
Until recently, there were only two options; (NCETMB and NCETM), now there is a third exam. Students may now sit for the new national exam called the MBLEX.
This textbook now includes coverage of MBLEX questions. In addition, we've retained our coverage of questions from the other massage exams (NCETMB and NCETM).
