The goal of Medical Terminology Complete is to prepare students for careers in health care professions by providing them with a self-guided tool for learning medical terminology.   This new book is designed to make the task of learning medical terminology as simple as possible.  It is written in a friendly, easy to understand manner.  Medical Terminology Complete is centered on a programmed learning approach, combining narrative, visual, self-quiz, and clinical insert features. It contains many full color illustrations and photographs to help students visualize structures of the human body.  The book may be used as a text to support lectures, or as an independent student workbook

Each chapter is written at a level targeting introductory students.  The programmed learning frames contain brief, clear, and concise statements, usually describing a single medical term.  The advantage of this is that the student can focus on one term at a time.

Learning Objectives, begin each chapter, informing the student reader of the tasks ahead.

Key Terms are presented in the answer column and also appear in boldface type within the main frame to highlight them.

Did You Know?, reveals fascinating facts about the Latin or Greek origins of a medical term and provide interesting and relevant facts and figures that draw a connection between a particular term and its clinical point of interest.

Words to Watch Out For! provide tips about commonly misspelled or error-prone terms and word parts.

Abbreviations for the terms that are in common use are found at the end of the chapter.

Practice sections, are blocks of questions providing students the opportunity to self-test their new understanding by answering questions.
