There are no other videos currently available for use in teaching normal development that follow the growth of one child longitudinally. This video has been created specifically to fill this gap by a child and adolescent psychiatrist who has taught normal development to psychiatry residents since 1987. The film provides enjoyable, classroom-tested examples of one child's development in the realms of temperament, cognition, morality, gross and fine motor activity, verbal ability, attachment, separation-individuation, normal anxiety, etc., utilizing both formal and informal assessment and observation. Academic, social, and family arenas are addressed, including peer group interaction, sibling issues and parenting techniques.
