Michael G. Wood combines his easy-to-follow writing style with detailed illustrations and high-quality human cadaver photos to create a new and exciting full-color lab manual.  The manual’s features help students retain the concepts and terms they learn in their human anatomy lecture class and apply them to their work in the lab.

  • QuickCheck Questions appear at the end of most activity introductions to help students assess their understanding of the material before turning to the actual lab work.
  • Making Connections is a brief feature that includes easy mnemonics (memory aids) and useful observation tips to help students understand and retain information.
  • Clinical Correlations boxes help students correlate what they are doing in the lab with real-life clinical situations.
  • A Regional Look sections appear at the end of every body system and incorporate large cadaver photos that allow students to step back from the body systems organization of the lab manual and look at how the systems work together within specific regions of the human body.
  • High-quality Histology Images show the tissues that students will see under the microscope.
  • Drawing Activities help students more easily commit structures to memory.
  • Nine Cat Dissection Exercises appear at the end of the Lab Manual.
  • Tear-out Laboratory Reports appear at the end of each exercise and can be submitted for a grade. Question types include Matching, Labeling, Drawing, Short-Answer, and Analysis and Application.
