Automotive Technology: The Electronic Classroom is a complete teaching/learning system using text and multimedia resources for a computer centered approach. Each volume in the series consists of a highly organized textbook, student learning program on CD, and instructor resource database on CD. Instructional modules are based on ASE guidelines and NATEF tasks, with pre-programmed playlists to guide instructors in the selection of materials. Included are shop worksheets, a glossary (English and Spanish), and hundreds of practice ASE-type test questions. The series is ideally suited to an educational environment wherein both student and instructor use computers as the primary learning and teaching tool.

  • Student Learning Program (CD)—A copy is packaged in every book. This CD contains a study guide, automotive glossary, multiple choice questions with references back to the learning material, and hundreds of color images, animations, and video clips.
  • Instructor Resource Database (CD)—Available only to instructors who adopt the book, this CD contains pre-planned playlists, a link for updating content, and hundreds of additional images, videos, and animations.
  • Worksheets—Also on the student CD are worksheets for all the NATEF tasks relevant to the subject area. These can be printed and used in the shop or lab.
  • Compatibility—Works with all Windows systems and networks.
  • Review of Fundamentals—Each volume has units on safety and basic science to insure that all new students understand these important basics before further technical study.
  • Industry Supported—Major manufacturers, including Ford, Daimler-Chrysler, Bosch, Snap-on, and many others have contributed materials to make the programs relevant and up to date.
  • Coverage—Each volume covers theory and technology, health and safety, maintenance and service, customer care, diagnosis, tools and equipment, and inspection.
  • Interactivity—The multimedia materials are interactive and the test questions have links back to relevant coverage. Topics are presented in small units for easy learning and clear organization.
