"Is the Way We Lecture Outdated for Today's Students?"

13/e author, Dr. Matt Stoltzfus of The Ohio State University, delivers a unique lecture on engaging today’s students.

Matthew W. Stoltzfus, or Dr. Fus to his students, is a Chemistry Lecturer and Digital First Faculty Fellow at The Ohio State University, where he has taught general and advanced inorganic chemistry. He is experimenting with the "flipping the classroom" lecture approach, which is outlined on his course website

In his talk, "Is the Way We Lecture Outdated for Today's Students?" Dr. Fus discusses how lecture has changed over the years and how our current model does not captivate the attention of our current students. He also highlights his flipped classroom, which provides the traditional lectures to the students outside of the classroom, which opens up the classroom time for experiments, focused discussion, and problem solving.
